In reply to @girija4. Wasing potatoes properly is a must.It will remove the starch only.Now a days Potatoes are not cooking because of chemical additives and pesticides.Organic potatoes gets cooked fast - Just in one whistle.

Some potatoes are not getting cooked quickly even when kept in cooker. Is there any tip to cook them easily? Should we wash potatoes after chopping it? Will the vitamins also not wash away along sith the starch? Potato pappad/vadagam easy recipe podavum.

When you wash the potatoes after chopping it might reduce. soak for few minutes in water , ,it might reduce little.Starch should be removed by washing well many times till water looks clear.If it is genetically modified it may not reduce.Try adding more chilli powder and salt.May be squeezing lemon might help,Add it at the end of cooking
